My father always says that I was born doing hair and make-up. I came into this life wielding a set of brushes.
This passion for working with the face and the hair began “professionally” when I was in the 8th grade. We, as a theatre class, were charged with creating make-up and hair concepts for Shakespeare’s The Tempest, and my designs were chosen for the leading lady and for the nymph, Ariel.
From there, I participated in many theatrical performances, and was constantly “dolling up” my friends for formal outings or for “photo shoots” with the disposable camera.
In 2004, I began working for Laura Mercier in Houston, Tx. There, I was trained in her Flawless Face philosophy by one of her National Make-up artists. I formally worked for Laura Mercier for 3 1/2 years while I was in Houston. In 2004, I also began working with Beverly D Hair Design where I learned the art and craft of caring and working with hair.
In 2007, I graduated from HBU, and I moved to Charlottesville, Virginia where I teamed up with my now husband, photographer Eric Kelley.
Together, we opened a coffee shop, called Para Coffee in 2008, and own and operate Eric Kelley Photography, Inc.
Currently, I am a free-lance make-up and hair artist serving the Charlottesville, Richmond and DC area. I often work with Eric on weddings, and I have also worked with Sarah Cramer, Aaron Watson and Jason and Tammy Keefer.
I look forward to working with you to create the perfect wedding day look!
